The LA County Board of Supervisors recentlydeclared a local state of emergency for homelessness and the County is working to revise and expand our response to help all who are affected. We are looking for qualified and passionate individuals to help us in the mission of addressing issues like housing mental health and substance use. The Department of Mental Health is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Health Program Analyst III vacancies related to the homelessness crisis.
Under the emergency order applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days with an opportunity for permanent County employment.
Before the end of your initial work period you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100.
Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Health Program Analyst III .
Supervises or independently executes the development implementation and evaluation of the services of a program or subprogram; formulates or assists with the formulation ofplans policies and objectives for the program.
Supervises and participates in the coordination and facilitation of collaborative efforts among public private and nonprofit groups and community organizations to meet the needs of the target population; provides leadership technical assistance advocacy and coalitionbuilding on behalf of targeted groups.
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:
Option I: A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college* or university in Social Work Counseling Health Care Administration/Management Public Administration Behavioral Sciences Social Sciences Business Administration or a closely related field. AND five 5 years of experience in the analysis of mental health or public health programs*** two years of which must have been at the level of Health Program Analyst II**.
A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work Counseling Health Care Administration/Management Public Administration Behavioral Sciences Social Sciences Business Administration or a closely related field of the department may be substituted for one year of the required experience in the analysis of mental health or public health programs***.
Option II: Seven years of experience performing assignments in mental health or public health program analysis two years of which must have been at the level of Health Program Analyst II**.
APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE ABOVE REQUIRMENT(S) AT THE TIME OF FILING IN ORDER TO BE APPOINTED TO FILL ANY VACANCIES RELATED TO THIS RECRUITMENT.
LICENSE:A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize and alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out jobrelated essential functions.
PHYSICAL CLASS:Physical Class II Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit and some bending stooping or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
Official Transcriptis defined as a transcript that bears the college seal and states official and/or copy issued by the schools Registrar Office. A printout of the transcript from the schools website is NOT considered official and; therefore will NOT be accepted and may result in your application being incomplete or rejected.

**Analysis of mental health or public health program is defined as the study and investigation of issues and problems of mental health or public health program development implementation administration and evaluation and the generation of applicable solutions and recommendations.EXAMINATION CONTENT:
