Atlanta Gear Works is a fastgrowing family run highly respected leader in custom gear manufacturing and gearbox repair for industrial customers across North America. We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in gear design and gearbox repair looking to grow with a company that values quality precision and innovation. Key Responsibilities:
Design reverse engineer and troubleshoot custom gearing and industrial gearboxes
Work closely with sales and service teams machinists assemblers and vendors to ensure project success
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to provide technical support project updates and solutions
Manage projects from quoting through completion meeting customer timelines and quality standards
Create and review engineering drawings models using Solid Works.
Develop technical documentation for repairs and gearing
Support continuous improvement in processes and products
Utilize ERP systems (JobBOSS experience a plus) to manage work orders and track project progress
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field
3 years of experience in the gear industry strongly preferred
Solid understanding of gear geometry materials and manufacturing methods
Handson experience with gearbox design and repair
Strong project management skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with ERP systems and job tracking tools
Excellent communication and problemsolving skills
