The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is hiring a pediatric neurologist specializing in mitochondrial disorders to join the Program for Mitochondrial Medicine and Metabolism in the Division of Pediatric Neurology. This program combines expert clinical care and clinical research based at Seattle Childrens Hospital with preclinical research based at Seattle Childrens Research Institute. This is a fulltime 12month service period appointment (July 1 June 30 at the Associate Professor rank (without tenure) but candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at the rank of or Professor (without tenure) commensurate with experience. This position will require active participation in and leadership of clinical and teaching programs. University of Washington faculty engages in teaching research and service.
This position will have clinical duties in general pediatric neurology as well as duties related to the diagnosis and management of mitochondrial disorders and clinical trial recruitment and management.
The base salary range for this position will be $21244 $24984 per month $254928 to $299808 per year) commensurate with experience discipline and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role or Productivity Incentive.
The anticipated start date of this appointment is July 1 2025.
Requirements include M.D. D.O. or foreign equivalent degree eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington and certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonU.S. medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
