Job Summary
Seeking highly motivated and responsible employee to work with our genetic counseling team to provide support in Huntsman Cancer institutes dynamic clinical environment within the Family Cancer Assessment Clinic FCAC . Bachelors degree or equivalency. Ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks; computer skills including word processing spreadsheet software and/or database software preferred; demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required. Relevant work experience preferred. Responsibilities
Effectively supporting the internal clinical workflow of the FCAC team by assisting in all aspects of patient intake and followup including acting as the liaison between various labs departments insurance companies etc. Coordinating genetic counseling appointments and results calls with patients and their family members. Database entry Placing genetic testing orders and effectively tracking their status Other patient preparation and followup tasks to support genetic counselors in oncology cardiology and neurology. The Genetic Counselor Assistant may also have opportunities to participate in additional community outreach and educational opportunities. Problem Solving Employees in this position are expected to be familiar with the departments policies and procedures and have a working knowledge of University and department organizations and procedures in order to answer and assist staff and visitors. Work Environment and Level of Frequency typically required Nearly Continuously: Office environment. Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) plus two years of related experience required; ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks; computer skills including word processing spreadsheet software and/or database software preferred; demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required. Bachelors degree in a related field may be preferred. This position is patientsensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
