Courses may include:
Basic Food Theory and Skills
Soups Stocks and Sauces
Meat and Seafood Fabrication
Classical Cuisine and Pastries
Deliver highquality instruction aligned with departmental curriculum and college standards
Assess student performance and provide feedback in a timely constructive manner
Collaborate with fulltime faculty to maintain academic consistency and excellence
Utilize Microsoft Word Excel and instructional technology effectively
Maintain positive respectful interactions with a diverse student body
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher in Hospitality Culinary Arts or related field
Professional certification (e.g. ServSafe Manager)
Relevant industry work experience 25 years depending on the course)
Experience working with diverse multicultural student populations
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching in a community college setting
Workplace Specialist License in Culinary Arts (for specific courses)
Strong knowledge of classical and contemporary culinary techniques
Comfort with standard culinary classroom equipment and tools
Adjunct faculty are employed on a termbyterm basis and are limited to no more than 12 contact hours per semester.
