Job Description
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Hight School diploma or GED.
- Forklift Training Certificate required.
- Minimum one 1 year of forklift driving experience.
- Knowledge and willingness to use lockout procedures and necessary PPE.
- Willingness to work any shift work on short notice work overtime and weekends and rotate between jobs; as well as perform any job as specified by supervisor.
- Ability to sit and drive forklift on a frequent basis frequently reach and grasp climb on/off forklift ladder stacks of units and occasionally lift/carry up to 100lbs.
- Ability to work with little direct supervision and be selfmotivated.
- Ability to work closely with others; be a team player/leader; demonstrate good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum One 1 year Hyster 210 experience.
- Operate the Track mobile/Rail Engine to spot and release full and empty cars.
- Forklift driving in a manufacturing environment.

Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for a Shipping Forklift Operator to join our Shipping team at Eugene EWP Plant located in Eugene OR. This facilitys primary products are TJI Joists and Microllam Laminated Veneer Lumber for beam and header applications. Must be committed to safety have a positive attitude excellent work ethic great communication skills and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility.
Must be flexible to work during swing and graveyard shifts. Starting wage $22.65/hour with ability to move up to $27.95/hour.
Key Functions
- Ensure safe truck and rail loading procedures are followed during loading and staging processes.
- Communicate effectively the safety and quality expectations with all truck drivers for each load that is prepared for shipment.
- Identify and resolve safety risks quality and Shipping issues. Report all near misses and safety hazards to Shipping Supervisor or designee.
- High level of safety skills needed to operate all forklifts to include the large Hyster 210
- Engage and address all potential safety issues with truck drivers and other pedestrian and/or contract personnel that require access to the Shipping yard.
- Inspect all trailers and equipment for safety issues. Perform Preuse Inspections on forklifts and spot trucks daily.
- Inspect all railcars for proper cabling and safety devices. Load as appropriate and secure loads to minimize movement during shipment. Notify Shipping Supervisor or designee of issues.
- Loading outbound trucks and or railcars with finished goods that range from 8 to 60 Header stock IBeams and rejected material
- Work the finished product outfeed line and properly put away material in the storage yard.
- Unloading inbound veneer trucks and OSB rail box cars
- Develop a thorough working knowledge of SAP and the Transportation and Inventory Management applications as necessary.
- Perform all internal audits as assign.
- Wear required PPE as required.
- Participate in Safety and Quality Management Systems programs as appropriate.
- Work effectively within the team environment.
- Maintain ongoing housekeeping of the yard and travel roads.
- Other duties as assigned.
