Job Description
Clinical Hematologist NonMalignant University of Utah Faculty Division of Hematology & Hematologic Malignancies The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies is seeking Board certified or Board eligible Hematologists with an interest in adult General Hematology. The Hematology Division has a faculty of six nonmalignant adult hematologists with international reputations as clinicians and clinicianscientists. We have programs in Hemostasis Thrombosis Hereditary and Acquired Anemias abnormalities of Heme and Iron Metabolism and Myeloproliferative Disorders. Due to the continued growth of these clinical programs the new faculty members clinical responsibilities will focus primarily on nonmalignant hematologic disorders and primarily in the Hematology Division outpatient setting at Sugar House Health Center. Our faculty have a long track record of mentoring junior faculty so the University of Utah presents a rare opportunity to build a strong career as a successful and internationallyrespected academic hematologist. We also encourage candidates with aspirations of becoming clinicianscientists. Preference and additional research support would be available for candidates with existing grant support. The Hematology Division has a combined fellowship program with Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine that attracts very strong fellows. The successful candidate will hold M.D. D.O. or M.D./Ph.D. degrees and will be boardcertified or board eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology and eligible for a Utah Medical License. Prior experience and training will ideally reflect a strong clinical and/or research interest in nonmalignant Hematology clinical excellence and a career in an academic environment.
