Job Description

Overview
The Trek LeaderTour Guide plays a vital role in enhancing the outdoor experience for travelers by expertly guiding them through various treks while ensuring their safety and enjoyment. This position is integral to delivering memorable and enriching experiences that showcase the beauty and diversity of nature. The Trek Leader is responsible for planning leading and overseeing trekking trips in varying terrains ensuring that participants are wellinformed about the trail local customs and environmental practices. A Trek Leader not only leads the group on the path but also acts as a bridge for tourists to connect with the surrounding wilderness and cultural narratives. With strong leadership knowledge of the environment and excellent communication skills the Trek Leader significantly contributes to the organization s reputation for exceptional adventure tours.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage trekking groups through diverse terrains.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during treks.
  • Develop and implement fulfilling trek itineraries.
  • Educate clients about local flora fauna and culture.
  • Conduct pretrip briefings to prepare tourists for the experience.
  • Provide support in case of emergencies by administering first aid when necessary.
  • Maintain equipment and review safety protocols prior to treks.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all participants.
  • Handle logistics related to transportation and accommodations.
  • Facilitate interaction between group members to build camaraderie.
  • Monitor weather conditions and make safetyrelated decisions.
  • Promote environmentally responsible trekking practices.
  • Collect feedback from participants to enhance future trekking experiences.
  • Stay updated on local regulations and trail guidelines.
  • Network with local communities and engage in cooperative ventures.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; higher education in outdoor recreation or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a trek leader or tour guide.
  • Certification in wilderness first aid and CPR.
  • Excellent navigation and mapreading skills.
  • Strong physical fitness and endurance for demanding treks.
  • Indepth knowledge of first aid and emergency response.
  • Experience in risk management and safety protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage stressful situations.
  • Basic understanding of environmental conservation principles.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
  • Passion for outdoor activities and adventure travel.
  • Ability to create engaging and informative narratives.
  • Valid driver s license and clean driving record.
  • Background in customer service and hospitality is preferred.
