Job Description

As the Head of Ad Product at Rome2Rio youll play a pivotal role in scaling our advertising and monetisation efforts during a key phase of growth. Youll lead the strategy development and performance of our ad products connecting travellers with the right partners while driving longterm commercial value. This role is instrumental in shaping Rome2Rios next chapter as we expand our business model and deepen our value to users and industry partners alike.

Youll be part of the leadership team reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with peers across product sales engineering data marketing and design to deliver innovative and sustainable monetisation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Product Leadership

  • Define and drive the vision roadmap and performance of our advertising and monetisation product suite.
     
  • Contribute to companywide strategic planning and help shape the commercial direction of Rome2Rio.
     
  • Partner with the Head of Consumer Product to build a cohesive usercentric product strategy across both consumer and commercial experiences.
     
  • Develop scalable ad solutions that serve the needs of both travellers and advertisers from native placements to sponsored integrations and beyond.

Ad Product Scope

As Head of Ad Product youll oversee the strategy and development of a range of advertising solutions including:

  • Sponsored Listings Promote travel operators and partners directly within user search results.
     
  • Display Advertising Drive performance and awareness through programmatic and directsold display campaigns.
     
  • Targeting & Audience Segmentation Leverage firstparty travel intent data to deliver relevant experiences for advertisers and users.
     
  • Ad Platform Tooling Develop scalable internal tools campaign management systems and reporting dashboards to support commercial operations.
     
  • Measurement & Attribution Define frameworks for campaign success and work with Data and Engineering teams to build transparent reporting.
     
  • PrivacyFirst Monetisation Ensure compliance and innovation as the advertising landscape shifts away from thirdparty cookies.
     

Product Management &

  • Oversee the product management of all advertising and monetisation initiatives.
     
  • Bring strong domain expertise to inform product design prioritisation and gotomarket strategies.
     
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate product impact revenue performance and user experience outcomes.
     
  • Balance shortterm monetisation wins with longterm strategic value creation.
     

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales Commercial and external partners to align product initiatives with market demand and revenue opportunities.
     
  • Collaborate with Consumer Product and Engineering to ensure seamless integration of advertising across the user journey.
     
  • Act as a key partner to internal stakeholders helping prioritise and deliver impactful features campaigns and platform improvements.
     

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead mentor and grow a team of highperforming Product Managers.
     
  • Foster a culture of learning collaboration feedback and innovation.
     
  • Champion a strong product craft and ensure clear development pathways for your team.
     
  • Support performance reviews and professional development across the team.
     

DecisionMaking & Innovation

  • Identify and evaluate new monetisation opportunities based on market trends user behaviour and data insights.
     
  • Make sound decisions using a mix of qualitative and quantitative reasoning.
     
  • Anticipate challenges and proactively develop strategies to address them.
     

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure ad products meet high standards of reliability usability and scalability.
     
  • Stay ahead of industry regulations and ensure compliance with privacy data and ad tech best practices.

Qualifications :

  • 8 years in product leadership roles with significant experience in advertising or monetisation products.
  • Proven success building and scaling ad platforms ideally in consumer tech or travel.
     
  • Deep understanding of ad tech monetisation models and the programmatic ecosystem.
     
  • Strategic thinking with a bias for action and results.
     
  • Experience managing crossfunctional teams and partnering with Sales or Commercial functions.
     
  • Strong leadership communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
     
  • Passion for solving complex problems in usercentric ways.
