Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapist
KIPP MA is looking for an occupational therapist that will serve students with occupational therapy needs in the special education and general education setting across elementary and middle school grades. The ideal candidate will show an unwavering commitment to the progress of students towards their occupational therapy IEP goals. Candidates must also show a desire to pursue social justice and approach work with cultural competency.
This role requires consistent and reliable demonstration of the following essential job functions and key responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create occupational therapy session plans
- Report on quarterly progress for students with IEPs
- Take data during occupational therapy sessions
- Run individual and smallgroup occupational therapy sessions
- Support with selfcare skills in conjunction with occupational therapy goals
- Consult for students as requested in the general and special education setting
- Collaborate with supervising occupational therapist to assist with evaluations

- The consistent use of interpersonal and selfmanagement skills to effectively support behavioral and emotional needs of students to ensure a safe and inclusive environment as well as build relationships and manage conflict with students staff and caregivers
- Effective communication skills to perform assigned duties and to meaningfully exchange information with students staff families and others in person through written communication in front of groups and on virtual platforms
- Physical mobility to move self in various positions in order to execute duties effectively which may include kneeling walking pushing/pulling squatting twisting turning bending stooping and reaching overhead
- Physical strength sufficient to periodically lift and/or carry 20 pounds of materials or supplies and to physically restrain a student to keep from harming themself and/or others in an emergency situation
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive hand/wrist/arm motions and to operate a computer and office equipment

In addition to the responsibilities listed above there will occasionally be other duties as assigned that staff will engage in to help promote a positive and safe learning environment and culture.
Qualifications :
QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep alignment with KIPP MAs mission and values including the unwavering belief in the high potential of all students
- Demonstrated ability to drive student growth and achievement and to create a warm inclusive rigorous learning environment
- If applying as an OT Masters is required.
- If applying as an OTA Associates degree is required
- Have or be in pursuit of a MA license from the Board of Allied Health or hold a license as a certified occupational therapy assistant.
- Certification by NBCOT
- Experience as a schoolbased occupational therapist including knowledge of IEPs and 504s and relevant federal and MA education laws regulations and AOTA guidelines.
- Computer literacy and baseline familiarity with Google Suite
- Pass Criminal Background Checks

What We Offer
The minimum salary for this exempt position is $62000 as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and a $65000 starting salary as an Occupational Therapist. The role includes a $1000 signing bonusand an annual $2000 retention bonus in subsequent years as well as other bonuses when eligible.
