Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a talented Discrete Event Simulation Engineer to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of automotive production. Using advanced simulation techniques you will analyse and optimise manufacturing and logistics processes to drive efficiency improve throughput and support strategic decisionmaking.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement Discrete Event Simulation models using Witness to optimize automotive production processes.
Conduct bottleneck analysis and recommend strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
Determine buffer size requirements and assess the impact of different model derivative mixes on production flow.
Perform volume throughput increase studies and evaluate system whatif scenarios.
Ensure process adherence to vehicle derivative sequencing and buildtosequence rules.
Optimize material flows and logistics including:
Onsite material movements (lineside deliveries marketplace transfers).
Material movements between sites to improve supply chain efficiency.
AGV quantity estimation and identifying operational hotspots.
Racking studies to maximize space and efficiency.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to translate complex data insights into clear recommendations.
Qualifications :
Proven experience in automotive production or logistics environments.
Handson expertise with Witness Discrete Event Simulation toolset.
Strong Excel VBA skills for data analysis and model enhancement.
Experience in modelling assembly lines to improve efficiency.
Strong analytical skills with a focus on bottleneck analysis and process optimization.
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
A collaborative team player who can work effectively across departments.
