Job Description
Position Overview
Educators are responsible for engaging guests within The Mob Museum galleries and providing accurate and fun educational content throughout the Museum. Regular duties include initiating oneonone and group interactions including shortform and artifactbased presentations guided tours distillery presentations and longform educational outreach programs for audiences of all ages at schools community centers and other offsite locations. Reporting to the Manager of Mediated Experiences these individuals will maintain a flexible schedule to deliver a diverse menu of historical content and programs with the primary goal of promoting the organizations mission of advancing the public understanding of organized crimes history and impact on American society.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities
- Initiate and engage in oneonone and group interactions with guests to enhance the Museum experience.
- Participate in programs that involve artifacthandling and demonstration of offdisplay artifacts.
- Consistently role model an enthusiastic friendly serviceoriented demeanor.
- Maintain a strong and everevolving knowledge of organized crime law enforcement and Las Vegas history and related contemporary crime and justice issues.
- Assist in preparation and shutdown of exhibits and public spaces.
- Facilitate the Crime Lab exhibit experience by hosting the space and providing assistance with interactives.
- Lead energetic and informative guided tours for groups of all ages that enhance the guest experience and add value for private events.
- Deliver energetic and informative presentations in schools and before civic and cultural groups.
- Embrace a work schedule that demands significant flexibility to meet the needs of a diverse menu of educational programs.
- Demonstrate proper artifact handling in line with the Museums standards and ensure the appropriate maintenance of the education collection closet.
- Aid in fostering an organizational culture that values innovation promotes inclusion and inspires excellence in the work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications / Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience in educational programming or guest services in an educational cultural or entertainment setting.
- Strong public speaking conversational and written communication skills are a must.
- Will be required to meet baselevel content and delivery standards within 90 days of commencement in position.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Early morning availability for outreach presentations is preferred.
- Able to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of age levels and cultural backgrounds.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers supervisors vendors community organizations and the public.
- Software competency in Word and PowerPoint.
- Flexible innovative selfmotivated and able to work independently.
- Passion for creating a worldclass museum that is unrivaled in content and recognized for a truly outstanding guest experience.
- Enthusiasm for working in an organization where change is frequent structure is evolving and flexibility teamwork and good humor are absolute necessities.
- Proficiency in languages in addition to English is a plus.
- Able to stand for extended periods and walk through exhibit spaces is required.
- Valid drivers license in good standing (consistent with Museums Fleet Policy) is required.
Education
- Bachelors degree in History Public History Education or a related field or relevant work experience is preferred.
