About the Role
Join our team as a casual Disability Support Worker in Albury where youll provide tailored personcentred care to individuals living with disability. We have vacancies in both our Supported Independent Living and Lifestyle Programs.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Our Lifestyle roles consist of oneonone support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community with travel between clients and working short split shifts required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to work morning shifts as early as 6am and at short notice to cover sick leave is REQUIRED
- Assist clients in daily personal care routines including bathing shaving and toileting
- Provide active support for clients facing high medical and complex needs with the ability to remain calm and reassuring during unpredictable situations utilising deescalation techniques
- Assist with peg feeding and catheter care focusing on comfort and safety with training available for those new to the tasks
- Track and document clients changing needs while fostering positive relationships with clients families and fellow team members advocating for client choice and control with a focus on safety and compliance.
Skills & Experience
- Hold an unrestricted New South Wales drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated competency in basic technology usage on mobile and desktop platforms
- A current First Aid Certificate which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 or willingness to obtain
Successful candidates will be required to clear all statebased probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
