JOB DESCRIPTION:
To supervise and instruct students in the absence of a teacher to ensure the continuity of student learning and maintaining classroom order.

SUBSTITUTE ORIENTATION:
Before being added to theSubstitute Teacherlist you mustcompleteall paperwork and view an online orientation.Once your references have been checked you will receivean email with detailed instructions regarding picking up a paperwork packet and viewing the orientation.
SUB PAY RATES
Substitute Teacher NonCertified* $120
Substitute Teacher Certified $140
Retired Substitute Teacher Certified $150
Building Sub Certified** $150
Certified Longterm sub*** $160
ADDITIONAL BONUS:If a certified sub teacher works 55 days per semester (Sept end of Jan; Feb June) they will receive a $250 bonus at the end of each semester.
*NonCertified Subsitute Teacherqualifications can be found within the NonCertified Sub Teacher posting.
**Building Sub Teachersare assigned to one specific building while the students are in attendance. Each morning the main office secretary will assign the building sub to whatever classroom needs a sub. The building sub will follow the lesson plans left by the teacher. If no classrooms require a sub teacher the building sub will be assigned other work as directed by administration. Very occasionally another school may need additional subs and the building sub may be asked to help out at the other school.Building subs must commit to work for a minimum of 4 days/week 5 days preferred) for a full semester. (Building subs are pulled from the sub teacher list each year.
ADDITIONAL BUILDING SUB BONUS:If a Building Sub works80 days per semester(Sept end of Jan; Feb June) he/she will receive a $500 bonus at the end of each semester. This would bein additionto the per diem sub bonus of $250.
***Long Term Subs (LTS)are certified per diem subs who work30 or moreconsecutive work daysfor thesame teacher. When the consecutive days of the assignment are completed the rate of pay will return to per diem sub rate. (This does not apply if subbing for a Teaching Assistant or if covering only a portion of the teachers scheduled day.This is still considered a per diem sub teacher position and the LTS will be eligible for the $250 Bonus each semester. (Long Term Subs are appointed by principals as needed.
