Join the Anaplan IT Corporate Data Analytics Team a fastmoving highimpact team of engineers and analysts building scalable data solutions that empower decisionmaking across Anaplans IT organization. From infrastructure and enterprise applications to service management and software lifecycle we help IT teams see understand and improve their operations with data at the core. As anObservabilityEngineeron the Corporate Data Analytics team youll bridge the gap between realtime system monitoring and strategic insight. This role blends classicobservabilityengineering instrumenting systems building telemetry pipelines surfacing alerts with data modeling and analyticsoriented thinking to createstructured reusable layers of ITobservabilitydatathat support both reactive operations and proactive analysis.
Youll partner with analysts engineers and IT leadership to make sure our platforms arent just visible theyre explainable measurable and continuously improving.
Your Impact
- Build and maintainobservabilitypipelines that transform logs events and metrics intostructured data modelsused for dashboards diagnostics and longerterm trend analysis.
- Partner with IT Infrastructure Enterprise Apps and Support teams to define service health metrics SLOs and platform KPIs that align with both realtime monitoring and strategic analytics.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and telemetry interfaces using tools like Grafana Datadog and Tableau balancing immediacy and analytical depth.
- Create instrumentation and automations (Python preferred) that enrichobservabilitydata and support anomaly detection operational triggers and decision intelligence.
- Collaborate with analysts to define reusable metric definitions dimensional structures and sourceoftruth datasets for IT performance analysis.
- Champion consistency quality and reusability ofobservabilitydata across businesscritical platforms like ServiceNow Salesforce and Workday.
Your Qualifications
- 35 years of experience in anobservabilitydata engineering orSRE/platform engineering role focused on systems data and telemetry.
- Strong programming skills (Python preferred) and experience with data pipeline frameworks (Airflow DBT or similar).
- Proficiency with telemetry andobservabilitytools (Datadog Grafana Prometheus Splunk or Elastic).
- Experience designing structured data models to support both operational monitoring and strategic reporting.
- Ability to thrive in fastpaced crossfunctional environments with evolving priorities.
- Must be based near one of our office hubs to work hybrid schedule:San Francisco San Ramon Minneapolis Miami or New York.
Nice to Have
- Background in analytics metrics engineering or KPI frameworks supporting IT/business operations.
- Experience integratingobservabilitydata into BI/analytics tools like Tableau or Snowflake.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ServiceNow) enterprise platforms (Workday Salesforce) or related domain data models.
- Exposure toAIobservabilityconcepts including use ofvector databasesretrievalaugmented generation (RAG) or other supporting components behind modern AIpowered infrastructure.
- Experience buildingfrontend components or web applications with working knowledge of how UI elements connect to backend services and data sources.

Base Salary Range:
$147000 $198000 USD
