Job Description

Qualifications: The successful candidate shall demonstrate strong organizational communication human relations instructional classroom management team and public relations/community skills. Applicants should have a sincere interest and a commitment to work with students parents staff businesses community organizations and associate district schools. CareerTechnical or Vocational Certificate/License in HVAC or the ability to get one. Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio Department of Education. High School diploma 5 years of recent verifiable work experience in the field of Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning & Refrigeration with knowledge on basic plumbing preferred. Teaching and/or training classroom experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure: Applicants must hold a Standard CareerTechnical Trade and Industrial Job TrainingHVAC/R Certificate/License; OR (the following options must be approved on a VE36 Qualification Evaluation Form by the district or on a VE37 Teacher Eligibility and Education Verification Form) have a high school diploma or GED and five years of approved work experience 10000 hours with 6000 hours completed within the last five years) inHVAC/R or a related field; OR have an Associate Degree inHVAC/R and three years of approved work experience 6000 hours completed within the last five years) inHVAC/R or a related field; OR Baccalaureate Degree not inHVAC/R or Education and five years of approved work experience 10000 hours with 6000 hours completed within the last five years); OR Baccalaureate Degree in Education not inHVAC/Rand five years of approved work experience 10000 hours with 6000 hours completed within the last five years); OR Baccalaureate Degree inHVAC/R and two years of approved work experience 4000 hours completed within the last five years). Applicants from industry will be required to complete state university/college teacher preparation course work. (A preemployment three or fourweek summer class at a selected state university/college is required if the applicant is not certified/licensed as a teacher. Passage of a basic skills test (PRAXIS I) is recommended prior to consideration for employment if the applicant is not certified/licensed.

Duties: The HVAC/R Instructor will teach Junior and/or senior skills and knowledge in the field of HVAC/R & Basic Plumbing. Designs sequential instruction and learning activities to meet instructional goals. Prepare daily lesson plans. Maintain positive classroom management with consistent expectations for learning and achievement. Assist students in obtaining the skills necessary to be successful in the industry. Work closely with the immediate supervisor advisory committee and academic teachers to coordinate instruction and to prepare students for successful completion of the HVAC/R & Plumbing program promoting a safe learning environment. Plan direct and evaluate the instructional process to best meet the needs of students. Proficient use of a personal computer. Actively engage with businesses for employment opportunities for students.

Contract:Contract 183 contracted days. Contract to begin August 14 2025 or earlier as needed.

Salary: Appropriate placement onteachers salary schedule based on certification/licensure education/degree and experience.
