Position Description:

PEDIATRIC CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST

Childrens Wisconsin and Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is recruiting a pediatric neuropsychologist with expertise in acquired brain injury.

This position is a faculty position in the Division of Neuropsychology (Child) in the Department of Neurology at MCW and applicants at any rank (assistant associate or full professor) will be considered. Our faculty are dedicated to clinical research education and community engagement.

Partnering with other neuropsychologists neurologists and physiatrists this neuropsychologists clinical care and research will primarily focus on children with acquired brain injury. Neuropsychology provides patient care within the Childrens Wisconsin Neurosciences Center; including the Childrens Wisconsin hospital in an acute inpatient neuroscience setting inpatient rehabilitation service multidisciplinary followup clinic(s) and our ambulatory neuropsychology clinic. Our providers also maintain a general clinical practice for patients with a variety of neurological and medical conditions in addition to their areas of specific expertise. Desirable candidates possess unique talents and skills to mesh with existing operations. The abilities to work and think quickly efficiently and flexibly to conduct both comprehensive and brief consultative evaluations to be a strong team player and to be timely in completion of required patient care training and research documentation are essential.

Activities of teaching supervision and mentoring are highly valued including supervision of four pediatric postdoctoral fellows in clinical neuropsychology and teaching didactics to our child and adult neuropsychology fellows and practicum students from numerous regional graduate programs.

Successful candidates will have strong interests in collaborative clinical research in specific areas of expertise. Advanced methods for data extraction from the medical record allow for timely research. The Department provides mentoring research administrative support and protected time for new faculty to establish their research program. The Department supports a major fMRI research laboratory devoted to understanding normal and abnormal language functions a MEG research center collaborative IOM program for brain tumors and several clinical research databases. At MCW community partnerships that reduce inequities in health care are encouraged and supported and consideration of equitable care is essential across all missions.

Position Requirements:
