About the unit
Cytogenetics
Scope of Work
Performs highly complex cytogenetic which can only be mastered through years of experience in each field. Prepares analyzes and interprets results utilizing specialized software when necessary. Initiates develops and implements additional assays. Utilizes strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as exceptional manual laboratory techniques.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science Biology or related field.
- Medical Technologist Certified (MT) P American Society for Clinical Pathology Upon Hire required Or
- Medical Laboratory Scientist American Society for Clinical Pathology Upon Hire required Or
- American Medical Technologist Certified (AMT) American Medical Technologists Upon Hire required
- While previous experience as a cytogenetic technologist with ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (if certification eligible certification must be obtained within two years of date of hire) is desired other candidates with clinical laboratory experience and a strong interest in medical genetics and genomics will be considered preferred
- CRTCytogenetic Technologist (CG) ASCP American Society for Clinical Pathology within 1 year required
