Job Description

Fallbrook Union Elementary School District is a K8 district.

The successful candidate must be able to accomplish the following responsibilities in a friendly efficient and professional manner:

  • Directs students in appropriate library skills at each individual grade level.
  • Assists students and teachers in locating library media text materials research material for classroom use and equipment.
  • Effectively plan organize and prioritize multiple tasks within reasonable time limits. Work independently with minimal supervision. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Coordinates and supports teachers with classroom learning; research implement and present lessons to classroom groups; conduct library orientations; instruct students in childrens literature research skills internet use and electronic card catalog skills; genre studies author studies personal narratives and read aloud to reinforce and support appropriate gradelevel reading.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

DETAILS FOR THIS POSITION:

  • WORK SITE:San Onofre School
  • WORK SCHEDULE:7.0hours/day 7:30 a.m. 3:00 p.m. 5 days/week
  • BENEFITS: Benefit package includes Health and Welfare paid sick leave vacation and holidays (currently observing 14 paid holidays a year).
  • REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING:Equivalent to the completionof the twelfth grade; and either an Associates Degree of Arts (AA) or have completed 48 college/university semester units or pass the FUESD proficiency test for this classification; knowledge of computer operations and/or interest in learning the basic routines and procedures used in a school library media center is necessary or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities. Willingness to enroll in libraryrelated classes and participate in professional growth activities is working with diverse groups and cultures.
