Job Description

About RISE Prep Academies

RISE Prep Academies is a college preparatory K12 public charter school network based in Woonsocket Rhode Island where college preparation begins in Kindergarten. Approved by the Rhode Island Board of Education in October 2014 we opened our doors to our founding class of kindergarteners in August 2015 and our founding High School class in August of 2024. Through a rigorous curriculum highly structured learning environment and character education RISE Prep Academies ensures that all Kindergarten through 12th grade students achieve the academic skills content knowledge and character required for the path to college or career. Responsibilities: Responsibilities: The primary role of a STEM Community Teacher is to support highquality gradelevel instruction in Math and Science in Grades 35 or 68.

Specific roles and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following

  • Review and facilitate substitute lessons and provide instruction in the Humanities Classroom (Grades 35 or 68
  • Support schoolwide needs as assigned and identified by the Director/Dean of Academic Operations
  • Maintain collaborative and professional communication with educators and the broader school community
  • Maintain confidentiality of information concerning scholars and families
  • Provide additional scholar specific supports and assistance as outlined in their IEP

Qualifications: The RI Department of Education does not certify individual teacher assistants but sets minimum qualifications that school districts must follow in hiring TAs. Minimum qualifications as outlined by the Rhode Island Department of Education includes

  • Be of good character
  • Have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (associates and/or bachelors degree is preferred)
  • All applicants must Meet the RI Paraprofessional Standards (Education and certification) or be willing to complete the requirements within 1 year of employment.
  • Hold or be able to attain Safety Care Certification within 1 year of employment if applicable
  • Associates degree in education or related field preferred but not required. All applicants must hold a high school Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual candidates preferred

Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation package and comprehensive health benefits. Additionally RISE Prep offers childcare reimbursement MLL certification fellowship pathways tuition reimbursement investments in Special Education certification in addition to a vacation package.

Starting salary for the role of STEM Community Teacher is $37644. Final salary will be determined by years of experience education and current certification.
