DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These teachers are responsible for planning and teaching within their assignment and working cooperatively with other staff. These positions serve as educators for the ESY & Summer Recovery Services Summer Program reporting directly to the ESY & Summer Recovery Services Administrator.
Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) & Recovery Services classes may include students from the following Special Education Programs:
Functional Skills & Academics (Grades K12
Learning Center (Grades K12
MidLevel Blended Sensory & Social Emotional (Grades K5
Developmental Preschool (ages 35
MidLevel & Aspire (Grades 612
Adult Transition Program (ages 1821
Responsibilities Include:
- Working with administration and other staff to plan and implement the ESY & Recovery Services program.
- Participating in curriculum and assessment training.
- Implementing curriculum instruction and assessment with appropriate materials.
- Assisting in the management of the daily routine of ESY & Recovery Services.
- Promoting positive interaction among all members of the school community.
- Conferring with parents and staff about student achievement.
- Maintaining good order record keeping and discipline.
- Maintaining clean and orderly facilities.
- Attending staff meetings training site setup and cleanup sessions.
- Collecting data on IEP goals (minimally once a week).
- Reporting progress to parents and next years teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS
NSEA certificated staff member currently holding a provisional or continuing contract. (Now open to substitutes)
- Valid Washington teaching certificate with a Special Education Endorsement (mandatory).
- Teaching experience relevant to the assignment.
- Evidence of good classroom management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge and experience in curriculum instruction and assessment.

HOURS
8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.Tentative InPerson and Online Schedule
8:00 a.m. 8:30 a.m. Student Arrival/Coplanning/Family Communication
8:30 a.m. 11:30 a.m. Live Instruction with Students
11:30 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Student Dismissal/CoPlanning/Family Communication
DATES
Staff Training Date: TBD
Program dates: July 7 2025 July 24 2025 (Monday through Thursday)
Staff Hours: 8:00 AM 11:45 AM and/or 12:15 PM 4:00 PM
Schedule: Monday through Thursday

Employees Per Diem or C7 rate whichever is less (Per RCW 28A.400.200
