Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR THE 24/25 SCHOOL YEAR. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE APPLY AND WE WILL BE IN TOUCH SHORTLY. WE ARE LOOKING FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHING FELLOWS AT THE PK2 (MOSTLY PK) GRADE RANGEHave you always thought about a career in teaching but wasnt sure where to begin If so we highly encourage you to apply for this preservice fellowship program. Over the past eight years more than 58 former fellows have moved into full time teaching positions in either CF or neighboring Central Falls School District encourages applications from qualified and interested candidates in working as part of this 10month residency program (beginning in late August 2024 and ending the last day of the school year in June 2025 with the District. Selected individuals will serve as a Warrior Teaching Fellow as part of the Districts highly successful Warrior Teaching Fellows Program. The Fellowship will require passionate leaders in urban education to serve as instructional learning facilitators and studentcentered teaching advocates in all six Central Falls schools while at the same time helping to bridge the gap between English language development academic proficiency and the socialemotional support our students and families need in their schools and commit to one year of paid service to collaborate with administrators teachers and staff in providing a variety of academic and growth mindset supports in and out of the classroom. The Fellows will be responsible for developing facilitating and implementing various best practice strategies and concepts focused on one or more of the following: StudentCentered Learning and Teaching Enrichment SocialEmotional Development and Community Responsiveness. During the school day Fellows will serve as either classroom instructional substitutes or restorative support in their assigned school cultivating strong personalized relationships with students and their colleagues. Outside of school time Fellows are highly encouraged to be involved in many of the afterschool programs and activities. Fellows accepted into the program will have the opportunity to personally and professionally develop skills by participating in numerous Districtwide professional development experiences in the areas of personalized learning English language development restorative practices community responsiveness socialemotional learning and student Fellows will go through a required summer training program and are to attend monthly professional development sessions. Finally Fellows must have the courage and passion to inspire change in our schools influence the lives of our students and become guardians of equity for the youth of Central & RESPONSIBILITIES:Commit to facilitating instruction and providing ongoing student support five days a week and for 185 days in your assigned school (all Fellows are assigned to one school for the year).Attend all pretraining monthly monthly professional learning and school specific teacher meetings (when applicable).Collaborate with school administrators and district leadership to help bridge the gap between the community of Central Falls and the academic and socialemotional support our students CFSD advocates and assist in the implementation of the CFSDs E3 (Equity Empowerment and Excellence) Blueprint for Success core values.
