Job Description
General Description/Primary Purpose:
This position is primarily engaged in teaching research and service. The candidate must hold the doctorate (or recognized terminal degree) from an acceptable accredited institution in the field of specialization or closely related discipline at the time of hire.
The Department of Accounting & Finance is seeking a 9month tenure earning Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting. This position will report to the Department Chair Dr. Sean M. Davis. Position responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as conducting research and engaging in service activities.
Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on 08/04/2025
Working Hours: Varies
Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role
About the Department:
UNFs Coggin College of Business is expecting a period of growth with innovative programs increasing enrollment and a 21000 square foot building expansion. Current Project: Department of Accounting & Finance just launched a new Master of Science in FinTech and expects to offer a STEM Master of Accountancy soon. Ph.D. from an accredited institution in the field of Accounting at the time of hire.
Must have a program of scholarly research experience in teaching and willingness to participate in University related service duties as needed at the department and college level.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and research in Accounting are required.
For hiring at the rank of Associate must meet all requirements above and have earned the rank of Associate Professor.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Published articles and works in process should demonstrate an ongoing research agenda appropriate for an R2 Carnegie high research activity institution.
Research in accounting is required. Professional certification(s) such as C.P.A. C.M.A. C.I.A. are preferred.
