Primary ObjectivesThe Inspector is a key linelevel position responsible for the inspections of all phases of development and construction of programs and various HUD Grants. This job description is not an allinclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. PCI Employees are expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs and departmental objectives as assigned.

Essential Functions- Assists the ManagerConstruction Projects and Senior Manager with obtaining necessary permits and services with preparing bid packages work writeups and construction estimates to ensure proper administration of tribal housing programs.
- Evaluates the physical condition of properties including the electrical plumbing HVAC foundation roof and overall structure.
- Writes a detailed report following each inspection that includes photos and specific descriptions of damages observed.
- Makes recommendations for repairs or improvements based on their findings in the inspection.
- Contacts appraisers surveyors inspectors etc. when necessary.
- Inspects construction in progress related to applicable ICDBG projects.
- Works with General Contractors to remedy errors and omissions in blueprints and/or scopes of work.
- Reviews contractors payment request for services rendered.
- Assists the ManagerHousing Projects and Senior Building Inspector with the coordination of all paperwork for material cost on construction for annual budgets for Tribal Housing programs.
- Maintains construction records and daily log of housing construction activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
Job Requirements- Bachelors Degree in Construction or related field with two 2 years of related employment experience and/or a combination of education and related employment experience in construction work equivalent to six 6 years.
- Previous employment experience as a construction inspector preferred.
- Experience working with International Building Codes and all phases of construction.
- Must possess National Home Inspector certification or obtain within one 1 year of employment.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Must possess a valid state drivers license and insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training leadership development and other events.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

- Organized with unfailing attention to detail.
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to sit stand walk kneel crouch stop squat and twist for an extended period of time; the ability to lift hold and move objects weighing a minimum of fifty 50 pounds without assistance; the ability to climb holding a minimum of fifty 50 pounds. Ability to remain engaged until assignments are completed and overcome obstacles.

Compensation and Benefits- The starting pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.
