CBC/RadioCanada is the largest broadcaster in Canada and this team is at the very heart of its membership experience. The Loyalty Experiences (LEx) team is responsible for building maintaining and supporting the workflows that enhance our audience experience through audiencefacing products such as the CBC Account Centre CBC Newsletters and the Newsletter Subscription Centre. This team also supports CBCs presence on Google AMP and Apple News.
This role will participate in the product delivery and implementation of work required to develop CBCs membership offering across its digital products. Together with the LEx product team the Senior Developer will collaborate on the implementation of account features and the evolution of supporting platforms such as the Account Centre and the Newsletter Subscription Center.
As a Senior Developer on the team you will be working alongside a team of 35 developers a QA Engineer a Dev Supervisor as well as a Product Manager Product Owner and an Agile Team Lead.

How you will make an impact:
You are an experienced developer looking to apply and build upon your skills in:
Working on the technical evolution of the Account Centre the Newsletter Subscription Centre and internal apps that support our membership and newsletters programs
Contributing to the LEx codebase; other teams repos and codebases related to LEx
Aligning on consistency in code standards and languages
Leveraging department tools and standards avoiding duplication of efforts and divergence of codebases
Improving workflows processes code reviews and technical design
Creating and updating documentation contributing to technical presentations
Evolving the tech stack ensuring quality and keeping abreast of new and bestofbreed technologies
Adopting workflow changes
Completing code maintenance tasks like writing unit tests refactoring managing technical debt
Helping the team to move faster deliver quicker and more effectively
Striving for technical agility with an eye on measuring success
Supporting the Dev Supervisor Product Owner and Senior Product Manager to deliver on product strategy
Qualifications:
What you bring to our team:
Experience scoping planning and delivering engaging audience experiences
Proficiency in one or more mainstream modern programming languages namely Javascript and Typescript (PHP welcomed). Comfortable with NodeJS.
Experience designing and implementing React applications. Experience working with endtoend testing frameworks such as Playwright (Cypress welcome).
Knowledge in working with containerized applications in Openshift (Kubernetes welcome)
Experience with Webpack to bundle frontend applications is good to have.
Experience with PostgreSQL and ORMs (Sequelize welcome).
Strategic thinking to support goals across multiple teams
Data security and privacy best practices
Comfort in discussing/debating technical issues and approaches with others holding different perspectives and expertise
Knowledge of designing and delivering complex software solutions that are performant scalable and resilient
Experience with holistic software development approaches that incorporate automation observability CI/CD techniques.
Assets:
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and improvements. Ability to learn and share knowledge on new technologies.
A problem solver and good communicator who takes ownership of the work they do sees problems as opportunities and shares new ideas. A dynamic individual who loves to learn and connect with others.
Degree (BA BSc) or diploma in a Software Development Science or Engineering related discipline delivered by a recognized learning institution.
