Job Description

Job Summary
Through the AmeriCorps Texas grant program Texas Southmost College TSC will have AmeriCorps members who will 1 increase communication about and access to campus resources and support and 2 increase engagement in campus activities and with academic support services at TSC in Brownsville Texas. At the end of the first program year the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing TSC students who ewer served by the program falltospring persistence rate to 75 and falltofall persistence rate of 63.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Objective of the Assignment: Serve in the Student Life Office to help increase engagement in campus activities and with academic support services. Contact students about upcoming campus events volunteer opportunities and student organizations. Plan and implement campus events under the direction of supervisor. Design and distribute student life promotional materials. Plan and participate in outreach efforts for their divisions/department oE.g. Welcome Week campus events conferences webinars etc. Measures of the Assignment: Number of students who attend Student Life Events coorganized and implemented by the AmeriCorps member and: Persist to end of term or completion of program (shortterm outcome). Register for and attend following term: Winter/Spring from Fall or Summer/Fall from Spring (midterm outcome) Register for and attend the term starting one year from initial point of capture or complete their program (midterm outcome)
