We are seeking Front End Software Engineers who are passionate about using cuttingedge open source frameworks with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Sr. Manager Software Engineer youll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
Chariot team powers Capital Ones enterprise content and digital asset management systems. We work with internal teams at Capital One to fully understand the needs of content and assets across all areas of the business including marketing servicing and many other Capital One applications. To meet all of these unique needs of the business our team is constantly evaluating and implementing the latest best practices in content and digital asset management.
Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital Ones most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices.
What Youll Do:
Lead a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems
Perform software development on Front End Applications leveraging a testdriven development pattern
Own the technical design and development of crossfunctional multiplatform application systems
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends experimenting with and learning new technologies participating in internal & external technology communities and mentoring other members of the engineering community
Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloudbased solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
Utilize programming languages like JavaScript (Angular React Node) HTML/CSS TypeScript and Java open source frameworks RESTful web services and work on crossbrowser and crossdevice development
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud)
At least 4 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree
9 years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript React Angular Node TypeScript or Java
4 years of experience in open source frameworks
7 years of people management experience
2 years of experience in Agile practices

The minimum and maximum fulltime annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean VA: $225400 $257200 for Sr. Mgr Software EngineeringCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
