Position Overview
The Install Lead Hand at BNP plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless of naturalplayground installations. Reporting to the Foreperson this position is designed for a skilled anddependable professional who can work independently with minimal supervision while following the direction and guidance of the Foreman.
As an Install Lead Hand you must demonstrate a high level of technical expertise problemsolving ability and initiative to ensure installation projects are completed efficiently safely and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive handson professional with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence in craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Project
- Execute installation tasks with precision ensuring all work aligns with project specificationsdesign intent and BNP quality standards.
- Work independently while following directions from the Foreman ensuring project timelines and objectives are met.
- Assist in site preparation equipment setup and material handling to facilitate smooth project.
- Identify and troubleshoot onsite challenges collaborating with the Foreman and COO toimplement effective solutions.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure installations meet company standards and client expectations.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations actively contributing to a culture of safetyonsite.
- Identify potential hazards and take corrective actions to mitigate risks ensuring a safe workingenvironment.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe operatingprocedures for tools and equipment.
Equipment & Site Management
- Maintain and properly utilize tools equipment and materials to optimize efficiency and longevity.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriatepersonnel.
- Ensure work areas are organized clean and compliant with safety and operational standards.
Communication & Coordination
- Provide regular updates to the Foreman and/or COO regarding project progress site conditionsand any challenges encountered.
- Collaborate with the installation and production teams to maintain alignment with project timelinesand deliverables.
- Accurately document and report site activities safety compliance and any necessaryadjustments to installation plans.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in construction carpentry landscaping or a related field; experience innatural playground installation is an asset.
- Proven ability to work independently while following directions and maintaining productivity.
- Strong technical skills including the ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Physical stamina and capability to perform manual labour including lifting and handling heavy materials of up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in operating hand tools power tools and construction equipment.
- Solid understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to adapt to dynamic site conditions.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and provide clearproject updates.
- A valid drivers license; additional certifications (e.g. heavy equipment operation first aidWHMIS) are considered assets.
