A Brief Overview
Responsible for daily operations within the Stanford BMTCellular Therapy Facility operated by the Blood & Marrow Transplant Program. Duties include performing graft tissue bone or organ processing for transplant and other cellbased therapies under GTP or GMP as required. Conducts product characterization and release assays maintains product processing files assists clinical staff with infusions and preparation of investigational products. Participates in assessment and implementation of cellbased therapies and methodologies consistent with the facilitys role.
What you will do

Processes human cellular products including bone marrow hematopoietic progenitor cells pancreatic islets and other cells of interest derived from human tissue bone or organs and low complexity investigational products for infusion according to approved SOPs and using aseptic technique.
Performs low complexity ship out and receipt of patient products and trains how to perform higher complexity ship out and receipts.
Prepares clinical samples performs and documents quality control procedures as per approved SOPs. e.g. Cell counts and Viability.
Completes and compiles all required documentation for inclusion in paper and electronic processing records and performs data assessment for compliance and product release.
Ensures completion of all testing required to assess product safety and quality.
Performs and documents adherence to procedures.
Assists clinical staff with cellular product infusions.
Reports deviations and variances to facility management and BMT physicians in accordance with approved policies and procedures and participates in investigations and audits.
Assists with material and patient product inventory management.
Maintains operational readiness of the cell processing facility in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
Performs QC assessments of equipment and assists with routine maintenance of equipment as per approved SOPs.
Performs proficiency testing and trains on validation and implementation and update of cell processing procedures and test methods as directed.
Communicates both verbally and in writing with hospital and university staff as necessary to assure operational readiness of the cell processing facility and completion of assigned duties.
Maintains technical proficiency and regulatory proficiency in all areas of laboratory operation applicable to their job and trains on other areas of cell therapy processing e.g. FACTJACIE AABB CFR 1271 etc.
Assures cell processing and QC records are complaint with approved policies and procedures.
Assists in document and process updates of existing procedures.
Scheduled oncall and weekend work is required with flexibility to extend working hours as needed
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in a clinical or life sciencerelated discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Required
One 1 to Two 2 years of experience in Hematology Immunology Blood Banking Cell tissue bone or organ Processing and/or Cryopreservation. Required
ASCP American Society for Clinical Pathologist preferred .
CLS preferred .
CIS preferred .
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures in English
Ability to participate in and complete continuing education and demonstrate proficiencies related to cell processing and commensurate with assigned duties
Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job in English
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems of low complexity
Ability to function independently and within a team environment
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Attention to detail and documentation
Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area (MS Word Excel PowerPoint databases)
Knowledge of Medical Terminology scientific concepts and practices

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $58.10 $65.42 per hourThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
