Were passionate about coffee and that means we pay a bit more for coffee in order to buy direct and create longterm collaborative relationships with our producers that grow exceptional coffee.

The starting wage for a Barista in Pasadena is $18.23/hr. There is an extensive training program and a new hire generally should become fullbar capable within 90 days. After certification the pay rate improves to $19.13/hr. The position is eligible for tips. These average $5.00 7.00/hr.

Baristas in our Los Angeles coffeebars are part of the IBEW Local 1220 union. After a probationary period employees are required to join the union and pay monthly dues.

Job duties:

• Operationally adhere to policies safety standards and protocols and make suggestions for improving operations

• Prepare and serve beverages that adhere to our freshness and quality standards

• Maintain your coffee knowledge to educate and communicate with guests

• Engage with all guests in a hospitable sincere and friendly manner.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED is preferred

• Speak and read English proficiently

• Dependable with good attendance and punctuality

• Can effectively communicate with others

• Able to learn and master coffee tasting profiles and dialins

• Good teamwork skills

• Able to multitask and work in a highvolume environment

Physical Demands:

• The employee is regularly required to see talk and hear

• The employee is required to stand walk and sit on a continual basis. Will periodically stoop kneel or crouch.

• Will use hands to reach carry hold items or use the tablet/register

• May occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

• Retail store environment

• Noise level is normally moderate
