Job Description

The Childs Play Learning and Development Lab at the University of Delaware invites applications for a Limited Term laboratory is extremely active and highly collaborative with a focus on language acquisition spatial skills the effect of media and learning through Researcher will coordinate and facilitate all aspects of the research.

The successful candidate will be highly capable eager and wellspoken individual to serve as a fulltime laboratory manager. In addition this position will provide an opportunity to build a curriculum vita gain amazing research experience in preparation for graduate school and work directly with the wonderful people who populate the lab.

Appointments are for one year with renewal possible up to three years contingent on funding and performance. The position offers full excellent benefits (including dental and vision) and a dynamic and exciting working environment. The preferred start date for this position is June 2 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Position open until filled.

Qualifications:

  • A recent college graduate having majored in psychology or a related field and looking for additional research experience before going on to graduate school would be preferred.
  • Strong writing skills are essential as the Limited Term Researcher collaborates on publications writes grant reports and presents at conferences.
  • Attention to detail the ability to multitask and organizational skills are a must as the Limited Term Researcher connects the lab to the University IRB office manages participant recruitment and oversees purchasing equipment and supplies.
  • Previous research experience in a psychology or a related laboratory is required.
  • Interest and background in how young children learn.
  • Excellent social skills and comfortable interfacing with leaders in the research field.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with young children.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Training and supervising undergraduate research assistants.
    • Cultivate a team orientation and foster a high degree of professionalism among laboratory members.
  • Coordinate closely with Dr. Roberta Golinkoff but should be able to work independently as well.
  • Manage the Stories with Clever Hedgehog team to curate content for our Ukrainian/English online educational platform.
  • Active in all aspects of the research and there will be opportunity to develop paper presentations and manuscripts and participate in research conferences.
