The Athletic Director reports to the Head of School. This is a full time exempt staff position. The Director of Athletics shall perform faithfully to the best of his/her ability the duties of the Director of Athletics as outlined below: Understands and accepts the charism and mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph the mission of Fontbonne Academy and the Employee with the Head of School and the Assistant Head of School. Oversees and manages the entire Athletic Program; managing and establishing all school policies and procedures regarding athletics. Manages the athletic budget. Monitors assessment of all Athletic programs and with parents regarding Athletics. Facilitates the supervision/evaluation of the Assistant Athletic Director Wellness Coordinator all coaching staff and assistant coaching leadership training for all team captains. Assists in resolution of conflict between students/parents and coaches. Develops all team schedules game supervision athletic trainers and overall management of hosting home games. Arranges all off site certificates of insurance and town permits. Liaison and representative for the school with the MIAA. Is a member of the Head of School Directors Team. Collaborates with Elliot Physical Therapy and other outside agencies for the benefit of our athletes. Oversees all communications in and out of school community regarding the Athletic Program. Hosts parents information sessions and meetings. Chairs the selection committee for team captains which include interviews and leadership seminar. Oversees all Athletic Awards. Attends league conference and state association meetings. Administers Impact Testing in collaboration with the Wellness Department and School Nurse. Organizes all preparation for tryouts including Physicals permission forms concussion course paperwork etc. Responsible for meeting with all captains regularly to ensure leadership development and teamwork. Responsible for scheduling all transportation for all athletic teams. Collaborate with Admissions Administration and other departments in promoting Fontbonne and our community. Assumes additional duties as stated in the job description. Responsibilities may require working weekends evenings extended hours and/or school vacations.
