Position Description for Park County School District Elementary School Principal
The Park County School District in Fairplay Colorado seeks a highly qualified principal for Edith Teter Elementary (K5 School. The successful candidate will assume the responsibilities of the position no later than July 1 2025.
McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the superintendent in identifying and screening the candidates.
Location: Fairplay Colorado 85 miles west of Denver
Fairplay Colorado is a small historic mountain community located at nearly 10000 ft. above sea level and is the county seat of Park County. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and landscapes the area supports a healthy lifestyle and is a popular destination for outdoor activities like fishing hiking and hunting.
The Qualifications
The candidate must have the background skills and abilities to ensure the school provides a safe environment meaningful opportunities and innovative educational programs for all
students so that they reach their learning potential
The district specifically seeks an elementary principal who:
- Embraces the challenges and opportunities presented in a highaltitude rural community.
- Engages meaningfully with students teachers families staff and community.
- Communicates openly and builds trust through honesty and accountability
- Supports educators with resources training and high impact relevant professional development
- Prioritizes student achievement safety and wellbeing
- Balances multiple perspectives and makes informed studentcentered choices
- Works collaboratively to forward the goals of both Edith Teter Elementary School and the Park County School District.
- Has experience implementing best practices and strategies for schoolwide early intervention and student support
- Demonstrates the ability to engage stakeholders in establishing schoolwide behavior expectations and supports
Requirements:
- Prior administrative experience in an elementary school preferred
- Colorado Administrator or Principal license (or ability to obtain) required
Salary: $80036 $95836 per salary schedule based on experience and education
175day contract
