Job Description
Location: Mitchell School District
Position Type: FullTime 10Month 210 Days)
Salary: Salaried position with benefits
The Mitchell School District is seeking a dedicated and skilled Prevention Specialist to support the overall wellbeing of students and help foster a safe positive school environment. This fulltime 10month 210day) position focuses on proactive education and mentoring in areas critical to student development and school climate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional development and training for administrators faculty and staff in the areas of:
- Drug alcohol and tobacco prevention
- Antibullying initiatives
- School climate improvement strategies
- Deliver direct support to students through:
- Individual and group mentoring
- Classroombased education
- Crisis support and early intervention efforts
- Collaborate with school and district leaders to implement and maintain prevention programming.
- Serve as a resource and liaison to families and community partners regarding student wellness and prevention.
- Support schoolwide efforts that promote positive behavior student resilience and a healthy learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Various certifications will be considered (e.g. education counseling social work prevention).
- Relevant experience and training may be considered in addition toor in place offormal certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and positive relationships with students staff and families.
- A deep commitment to student health safety and success.
Position Details:
- Fulltime 10month 210day) position aligned with the school calendar.
