What youll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pickup truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Lead the development calibration and validation for electronic drivetrain and chassis control systems including (but not limited to):
    • All Wheel Drive Torque Distribution
    • Brake Torque Vectoring
    • Driver Steering Recommendation
    • Drag Torque Regulation
    • Drive Slip Regulation
  • Fully autonomous handson calibration of customer focused chassis control systems to meet the Ride Steering Handling Stability and Braking performance demands of an emerging electric vehicle market.
  • Define calibration methodologies best practices and requirement specifications in a new Earchitecture from scratch
  • Establish manage and track functional and performance requirements as a single point of contact independently from Level1 to a final validated version for serial production
  • Carry out indepth analysis of software documentation and feature set labeling to ensure clarity accuracy and alignment with product functionality.
  • Analyze and optimize chassis and propulsion feature sets for performance efficiency and diagnostic functions.
  • Conduct simulation and realworld testing to evaluate the performance of electronic chassis control systems in normal adverse and emergency scenarios.
  • Perform in vehicle limit handling on high friction low friction and offroad driving environments at various test locations and environments.
  • Develop and execute plans to meet program milestones regulatory requirements and a successful launch
  • Partner with other concept & systems architect teams to produce solutions to engineering & functional challenges
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in calibration processes requirement management and development strategies
  • Represent the company in technical discussions with suppliers and industry partners
  • Expedite the project with new ideas and new projects even outside of the calibration scope
  • Coordinate and collaborate with suppliers on integration and validation plans and activities
  • Support the Chassis Testing & Tuning team whenever needed with commitment to tasks outside the chassis functionality

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi Michigan
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance at inperson meetings and events regularly.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company on a regular basis.

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in an engineering field of study
  • 8 years of experience in vehicle concept engineering or serial development in the work scope of calibration and validation of software functions and calibration tools including ETAS and MATLAB
  • Ability to read and understand Simulink flow diagrams and Cprogramming source code
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics driving behavior evaluations chassis control theory and electronic control units (ECUs).
  • A passion for vehicle operation and performance specifically in truck and offroad vehicle development.
  • Mentorship experience for junior engineers and the ability to teach complex content with passion
  • Experience with electric vehicles or hybrid propulsion systems.
  • Proven experience in requirement setting and management for vehicle control functions
  • Experience with ISO26262 and functional safety standards
  • Vehicle limit handling driving abilities in precision and emergency maneuvers documented by standardized licensing testing (SAE TRC OEM Specific).
  • Advanced project steering and coordination skills to practice independent project management
  • Knowledge of module and zonal vehicle communication protocols such as CAN LIN FlexRay.
  • Handson experience with invehicle testing on public roads proving grounds and specialized test tracks.
  • Motivation to work at the cutting edge of electric vehicle technical design creation of new ideas and solutions and enjoyment of handson vehicle testing.
  • Flexibility for domestic and international travel as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills task ownership selfmotivation problem solving innovation creativity and communication skills.

Pay Transparency

This is a fulltime exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range $120000 $135000

Internal leveling code: IC9
