GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
A parent educator works with families and their children through home visitation from prenatal to kindergarten entry using skills in partnering facilitating and reflecting with parents utilizing the evidencebased Parents as Teachers model and curriculum. Parent educators provide parent education sensory and developmental screenings and family support to enhance the quality of parenting increase a parents understanding of child development and work with parents to help their child learn grow and develop to meet their full potential. Maintaining a caseload of 20 families Parent Educators plan deliver and complete data entry within established timeframe policies.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Parent Educator will implement Parents as Teachers model and curriculum with fidelity and follow all program and agency policies and procedures including meeting screening frequencies.
- Implementation of the program in accordance with contract requirements and First Things First Standards of Practice.
- Parent Educator will conduct home visits and maintain a caseload of 20 families.
- Complete home visits weekly twice a month or monthly following and delivering PAT Curriculum. Frequency is determined through case staffing with the Program Director/Supervisor depending on the needs and supports of the family. Maintain a minimum of 80 visit frequency rate per month.
- Prepare for home visits and complete the Planning Guide in data system (Penelope) prior to the scheduled visit.
- Conduct home visits and group connections at a time that is convenient for the family. This may include evenings and weekends.
- Complete all postvisit documentation within three business days 72 hours).
- Maintain case records and data systems in accordance with agency and program policies procedures and requirements.
- Initiate contact with referred families within two days and actively work to engage families in the program.
- Travel to and from home visits program training and/or events using own vehicle and/or agency vehicle.
- Attend mandated training which may include outofstate travel.
- Connect families to resources that address their needs at a minimum of monthly.
- Administer developmental (ASQ3 and ASQSE2 and sensory (vision and hearing) screenings throughout the program year with appropriate screening tools and equipment.
- Administer screenings for children including Bracken School Readiness Assessment and MCHAT (as needed).
- Administer screenings for parents including PICCOLO Edinburgh (if applicable) and PHQ9 (depression) Relationship Assessment Tool (domestic violence) and ACEs.
- Actively participate with teammates in the development and facilitation of monthly group connections for families. Facilitating an opportunity for families to build social connections with each other engage in parentchild interaction activities and increase their knowledge of ways to support childrens development.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues administration collaborative partners and others within the community.
- Participate monthly in two hours of individual reflective supervision and at a minimum one hour of group supervision.
- Attend and participate in all mandatory conferences seminars inservice training and program meetings. Adhere to program policy changes and updates as discussed during staff meetings.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities as set by the program/agency.
- Build and maintain relationships with community agency and partners to share program information and learn about resources available for families (events/outreach as assigned).
- Follow the agency dress code and overall agency policies.
- Organize and identify materials/supplies following program procedures.
- Maintain a safe clean and clutterfree work environment including following fire codes.
- Maintain professionalism at all times.
- Identify and develop professional goals with the Program Director/Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director/Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- CDA Associate or Bachelors Degree in Social Work Family Studies Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Special Education or related field.
- Two or more years of experience working with young children 0 5 years of age and their parents.
- Have knowledge/experience in home visitation and group education.
- Have knowledge/experience in typical and delayed child development.
- Have knowledge of community resources.
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with families social service providers collaborative partners coworkers and Program Director/Supervisor.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and some weekends.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to meet all set deadlines.
- Ability to work with diverse populations which include but are not limited to diverse cultural social economic status and lifestyles.
- Basic computer skills such as Word Excel and Outlook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Willing to continue to grow professionally.
- Location: must be able to provide direct service to the designated client base in the La Paz County area.
- Maintain a functional and safe home working space with adequate internet connection for the job.
- Comply with all agency and program policies and procedures including confidentiality employee conduct computer usage and dress code.
- Meet program/departments performance and productivity standards.
- Attend required agency and program/department meetings. ;
- Adhere to the schedule agreed upon with the supervisor.
- Follow and model CFRs core values.
- Participate in PQI initiatives.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid and/or ability to obtain such.
- Must be eligible and able to obtain a Level One fingerprint card.
- Must have a valid Arizona drivers license and vehicle and meet agency liability insurance requirements.

ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting for extended periods of time daily; standing and walking short distances.
- Must be able to climb stairs and move through a facility and a home.
- The position includes interaction with children that could include picking up a child as heavy as 40 pounds.
- Moderate twisting bending stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds in the performance of assigned duties.
- Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines as referenced.
- Normal manual dexterity and eyehand coordination required.
- Repeated handwrist movement required.
- Driving short and long distances for work purposes to include but not limited to: home visits events outreach and program meetings.
- The nature of the position involves a fastpaced working environment with multitasking of many different duties and tasks. General daily priorities may change at a moments notice and the position requires quick response time and flexibility.
