Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for compiling payroll data and reports such as hours worked taxes insurance and employee information from time sheets and other records. Performs actions necessary to determine pay and deductions including Federal and State taxes insurance retirement savings and other deductions. Monitors reports identifying and resolving problems or errors. Prepares computer input forms and enters data into computer files. Reconciles errors and maintain payroll records.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that weekly full cycle in house payroll data is processed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain employee records including new hires additions terminations deductions and addons (taxes insurance 401k per diem etc..
  • Verify timesheet information; contact field personnel for missing incomplete or duplicate entries.
  • Audits and reviews payroll system reports to ensure accuracy of payroll before submitting.
  • Ensures that all employee data is kept confidential.
  • Assist in other departmental tasks as needed. Receptionist coverage.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Two years payroll experience utilizing computerized systems
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong computer skills to include heavy data processing and intermediate Excel experience
  • Good communications skills and the ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to speak Spanish fluently is required
  • High School diploma
