Job Description

SUMMARY: Spectrum Control Ann Arbor is hiring an Engineering Intern to work in an office and laboratory environment with our experienced Process Engineering team to develop and qualify tooling/fixturing equipment and support the operations team. Spectrum Controls work protects soldiers explores space and saves lives by manufacturing microwave and microelectronics components. It is our goal to provide our interns with valuable real world work experience while collaborating with and being mentored by company experts.
Duties:
- Provide day to day support for process engineering and operations teams by assisting in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance.
- Participate in process control and improvement initiatives.
- Support and monitor process development product yield equipment qualification/testing and new material evaluation.
- Support equipment team with equipment/facility troubleshooting escalation and repair.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 years of post high school education in an Engineering discipline ideally Electrical or Mechanical engineering
- Working knowledge of basic electronics (voltage current ohms law)
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
- Experience working in a teambased environment
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Skills(preferred):
- Familiarity with 3D modelling software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks)
- Familiarity with lab hardware such as network analyzers multimeters etc.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems and business software
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering team quality and operations
