Job Description

Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union is seeking dynamic and experienced candidates to fill the role of the RNESU Summer Programming Coordinator. The summer programming coordinator is a licensed teacher who will be responsible for the development coordination and oversight of the 4 week RNESU summer programming for K6 students. The chosen candidate will be responsible for collaborating and consulting to create daily educational programming that meets the needs of the enrolled students. The Coordinator will also be responsible for oversight of the program including (but not limited to) supervision of staff and students communication with parents scheduling organization of the physical space food service and ensuring that all programming is consistent with federal and state laws/regulations. Summer programming will run in the month of student day will run from 8:00 AM11:00 AM MondayFriday with a potential for a fullday field trip on Fridays. The Summer Program Coordinator will be expected to work from 7:30 12:00 Monday through Friday with the potential of a full day on Friday if field trips are included. There will be an additional option for up to 5 hours a week for communication prep planning coordination data collection scheduling consulting and collaboration. The Coordinator will be expected to organize and facilitate a halfday orientation with staff to establish a relationship with staff participating in the summer programming and articulate the instructional and data collection expectations of the program. In addition the Coordinator will facilitate the setup of the physical space the collaboration and consultation with support the Coordinator will work with the Assistant Superintendent of CIA to determine the target group of learners to invite create welcome letters and registration forms to be sent out through schools to individual learners. The Coordinator will develop a system for collecting the necessary data and recommended learning targets from classroom teachers and interventionists in order to inform summer programming instruction. Up to 30 hours will be paid for this prep work in the spring and early summer before the start of summer programming. The successful candidate must possess:Qualifications:Certified TeacherSupervisory Experience Preferred5 Years Teaching Experience Preference will be given to candidates with the following training: Evidencebased Practices in the Science of Reading and familiarity with MultiTiered systems of supportProgram Responsibilities:Coordinate with Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment and Director of Special Services and to set start/end dates for the Fourweek summer school program for incoming kindergarten to outgoing grade 6 studentsCollaborate with the Assistant Superintendent of CIA to determine academic invitation criteria based on winter assessment results. Create announcements of the program invitations and registration forms etc for the how many teachers will be needed based on invitations and with the Central Office to develop a on the hiring committee for summer cooperation with building principles and teachers identify students who are eligible for summer supports based on data and the learning targets that they will work on with summerhire in Summer Food Services Program (SFSP) Training and collaborate with the Director of SFSP while overseeing the SFSP. Teachers will be distributing food and completing the daily with teachers to discuss expectations (dates/time; learning targets data collection scheduling substitute procedure submit schedule Summer Food Service Program and attendance)Coordinate with school nurses to make sure all emergency/medical information is submitted by the familyDevelop system to track student assessment data and return it to the schools for the duties as assigned by the district and school level administration. Daily Responsibilities Complete a building use form that includes cafeteria classrooms and other spaces that will be utilized for programming in early Spring in order to plan with Arrange for possible substitutes; share information with teacher/parasPhotocopy each students paperwork for teacher of that grade level(s)Purchase supplies neededCall parent/911 if medical issues arisesOversee classroom teachers/paras; address concerns as neededCreate MOUs and digitally sign time sheets for all with custodians/tech staff to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible (ex: bees on playground number or Chromebooks needed)Talk with parents who may have concerns or questionsMake sure there is a plan for children to leave with an approved driver each day; stay in district until last child is picked upMake sure that there is a plan for building/equipment to be secure before leaving each dayCoordinate snacks and mealsOther duties as assigned by the district and school level administrationApplicants should apply online through to: Debbie AlexanderAssistant Superintendent of CIA
