Job Description

Rutland Town School LongTerm Substitutes: 1st grade 3rd grade and 5th grade ELA/SS starting August 22 2025 Rutland Town School is seeking three 1.0 FTE longterm substitutes for 1st grade 3rd grade and 5th grade ELA and Social Studies. 1st grade August 22 2025 through Novemberrd grade August 22 2025 through Novemberth grade ELA and Social Studies August 22 2025 through December 12 2025The successful candidate will possess the following attributes;Knowledge of elementary researchbased best practices including the Science of ReadingKnowledge of MTSS and layered instructional practices including data collectionKnowledge of small group instructional practice using layered instructional practices Knowledge of effective literacy practices including knowledge of the OrtonGillingham approach for intermediate elementary studentsKnowledge of proficiencybased grading practicesKnowledge of the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards with the delineation between GRCSU priority and secondary standardsEvidence of integrating technology into the learning environment beyond the Supervisory Union agreedupon programmingKnowledge of best practices regarding student management protocolsKnowledge of formative and summative curricular assessments and use of data to inform of best practices to support student socialemotional needs including regulation restorative and proactive approachesEvidence of strong connection with students and familiesStrong communication skills as evidenced by a quality applicationLicensed or eligible for Vermont Educators LicenseRutland Town School is a PreK8 school of approximately 350 students.
