Job Summary
The Senior Product Procurement Engineer manages part development and quality feedback loops for New Product Introduction (NPI) Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and New Source Introduction (NSI) related activities by collaborating with suppliers design control engineers value chain engineering and procurement category teams.
What You Will Do
Managing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Cost management related activities from concept to PPAP to deliver parts at the right quality total cost and meet timelines. They accomplish this through collaboration with various functional areas like packaging transportation business resources supply chain etc.
Implementing product supply strategies aligned with the category management supply strategies that will create a competitive advantage for our customers by developing optimizing and integrating a worldclass supply network.
Managing the quality feedback loops to ensure lessons learned on quality defects are applied across the supply base.
Driving Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modeling design for manufacturability and leveraging suppliers capabilities.
What You Will Have
Datadriven Decision Making: Extensive experience and knowledge of the datadriven decisionmaking process and associated tools and techniques; ability to gather and analyze data to make organizational decisions that align with strategic business objectives and goals.
Advises on advanced data analysis methodologies and technologies to make more informed decisions.
Coaches others on improving the validity and reliability of data used in various DecisionMaking processes.
Designs KPIs and metrics to analyze data and influence decisions.
Evaluates the opportunities and the challenges of integrating data into decisions.
Oversees data gathering and analysis activities within the organization.
Seeks input from multiple sources to generate diverse ideas for Decision Making.
Effective Communications: Extensive experience and understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Reviews others writing or presentations and provides feedback and coaching.

Advises others on developing costbenefit analyses in different organizational areas.
Correlates quantified benefits with user objectives.
Establishes best practices for quantifying costs and benefits.
Recommends processes for selecting measurements and approaches for costbenefit analyses.
Collaborates with senior management in aligning strategies with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
Supplier Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge experience and skills into real practice.
Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.
Monitors supplier performance; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.
Develops quality standards and controls for suppliers.
Builds and maintains partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers.
Evaluates issues and terminates supplier relationships as appropriate; works with legal departments.
Ensures the fulfillment of report and recordkeeping requirements.
Supply Chain Management : Extensive experience and knowledge of functions principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.
Quantifies and evaluates benefits and risks of various supply chain strategies and approaches.
Participates in joint planning process design/redesign with clients and partners.
Monitors the complete supply chain management process.
Manages supply chain finance activities and measurements of effectiveness.
Consults on supply chain network design projects or processes.
Advises others on capacity issues at various points in the supply chain.

Manufacturing/design background with focus on packaged generator sets and fabrications
Supply chain background focus in endtoend management of materials from core suppliers to partner manufacturers
Technical product knowledge of packaged power generation systems
External/Internal sales and estimation background

This position can be located in Griffin GA or Irving TX

Summary Pay Range:
$126000.00 $189000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjobrelated knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
