TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 9Month
REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation
SUMMARY: The job of Bus Driver is done for the purpose(s) of transporting students and/or special education students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions; enforcing rules regulations and laws to maintain safety during transport; ensuring the safe operating condition of the vehicle; and ensuring the safety of special education students during transport loading and unloading from buses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Skills are required to perform multiple nontechnical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in profession and adhering to safety practices.
Knowledge is required to perform basic math; read and follow instructions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: pertinent codes policies regulations and/or laws.
Ability is required to consider a wide variety of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific defined processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of jobrelated equipment. In working with others independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives; and problem solving with equipment is significant. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: meeting deadlines and schedules; working under stress; dealing with diverse situations and people in a professional manner; and communicating with diverse groups.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; and monitoring budget expenditures. Utilization of significant resources from other work units is sometimes required to perform the jobs functions. There is a continual opportunity to significantly impact the Organizations services.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; frequent stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling; and significant finefinger dexterity. Generally the job requires 90 sitting 5 walking and 5 standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and some hazardous conditions.
