Clemons Library at the University of Virginia is seeking student Circulation Assistants for the 2025 Summer session (beginning May 12. The Library Circulation Assistant will provide customer service at the Clemons 4th floor main desk. The position duties include but are not limited to checking out books videos and equipment items to patronsansweringgeneralinformational questions; checking in returned materials and getting them organized and reshelved; providing basic IT support for printers and desktop computers.
The Clemons Library Summer building hours are 9am to 8pm on weekdays and 1pm to 8pm on weekends. Students who are enrolled in summer classes may work up to 20 hours per week. Students who are not taking summer classes are permitted to work up to 40 hours per week.
Extra consideration will be given to students who will be in town and able to work for the whole summer. Continuing to work at the library during the Fall semester will be possible but it is not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require lifting books pushing bookcarts and assisting patrons in the library public spaces.
