Job Description
POSITION: Information Staff Parttime Hourly
LOCATIONS: Multiple Branch Locations
SALARY RANGE:$19.77 $24.91/hr.
SCHEDULING: Availability and flexibility required. Up to 20 hours per week not guaranteed. MUST have good availability weekdays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. AND weekday evenings (excluding Friday) between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. AND good Saturday availability at least once or twice each month. Work is scheduled on an asneeded oncall basis. This position may require working at least two Sundays per month during the period that libraries are open on Sundays.
Overall Position Purpose: Work involves responding to a wide variety of customer interests in library services and satisfying requests for technology assistance materials in print and electronic formats employment related navigations information access and library instruction. Work encompasses promoting programs events and exclusive database services; supporting partnerships related to public health initiatives AACPL Foundation campaigns community services and all literacy related goals.
Minimum Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university with bachelors degree awarded. Experience in customer service using computer and MS WINDOWS; knowledge and experience using the Internet as a research tool and the capacity to engage in the ongoing learning of database and webbased search products while seeking authoritative practical answers to meet customer needs.
