Birmingham AL (Tarr) Retail shopSafety and Regulatory Compliance
Exemplifies promotes and develops safe workbehaviors.
Ensures all applicable regulatory (OSHA FDA DOT EPA) requirements are met and applicable training and recordkeeping is performed to meet departmental and location deadlines.
Maintains compliance with all Safety Management Systems requirements and any and all associatedpaperwork.
Manages paperwork to DOT FDA OSHA and Airgas standards.
Complies with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
EssentialFunctions:
Pulls assigned equipment for repair from inventory using appropriate equipment.
Performs inspection of machine and observes operation to detect cause ofmalfunction.
Disassembles machine using hand tools.
Determines replacement parts from lists and catalogs or repairs parts such as motor drive controls motors belts transformers bushings bearings gears etc.
May solder looseconnections.
May rewires electricalcircuits.
Reassembles machine using hand tools welding and brazing equipment and measuringinstruments.
Set up and start the repaired machine to verify operation.
Responds to customer calls in a professional and efficient manner.
Maintains a neat clean and orderly repair shop appearance.
Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to be certified and safely operate a forklift pallet jack and other warehouse equipment as required.
Assist with inventory housekeeping and demonstrations as required.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Education:
HS Diploma or equivalent (GED); technical certification preferred.
Required Length & Type of Experience:
2 years of experience in electrical repair/testing experience preferred.
2 years of industry experience and training preferred.
Strong background in the welding machine repair industry preferred.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
