As an Application Security Lead you will be responsible for overseeing a team of engineers and implementing and managing application development platforms and optimizing security tools to facilitate speed to deployment while securing applications. You will lead a team of cybersecurity professionals to enhance development platforms and security tools to optimize performance and usability. You will help establish effective and secure development processes that are aligned with industry best practices.

The opportunity

In the role of Application Security Lead you will lead a team that manages development platforms security tools respond to service request tickets automates processes deploy and configure code review tools and integrate security measures within CI/CD pipelines. Your primary responsibility is to oversee the team coordinate operations and as needed contribute to managing development platforms and tools are secure and resilient operational efficiency through automation and security is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. This includes integrating tools into the development lifecycle automating manual processes migrations and collaborating with developers to implement secure coding practices. You will enable development the teams to identify and mitigate risks early in the development process while maintaining operational efficiency.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in the operations of Application Security and development tools including Rally GitHub SonarQube GitHub Advanced Security JFrog Artifactory Xray and Tines for automation.
  • Oversee the creation and resolution of operational tickets related to these tools ensuring timely and effective responses to client needs.
  • Manage the upgrading and patching of selfhosted versions of Artifactory SonarQube and GitHub ensuring they are uptodate and secure.
  • Regularly update Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) to the latest versions each month to maintain optimal performance and security.
  • Create and update operational metrics to be presented in weekly client meetings providing insights into tool performance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to enhance the security posture of applications and development processes.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Proven experience in leading teams focused on Application Security and development tools.
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools and processes particularly in the context of AppSec.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to manage multiple operational tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and internal stakeholders.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in application security practices and tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash) for automation of tasks.
  • Hand on experience on cloud patching and updates
  • Knowledge of Windows Linux Unix any other major operating systems.
  • Experience managing operations teams and experience in service request tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
  • Experience in agile methodologies

Ideally youd also have

  • 57 years of experience with cloud platforms particularly AWS and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in managing the Application security and development tools
  • Certifications such as CCSP CSSLP OSCP OSWP GPEN GWAPT OSCE OSEE GXPN CISSP CISM PMP Scrum master etc.
  • Strong ability to listen to and understand client needs building rapport and delivering effective solutions.
  • Ability to identify escalate and manage risks enhancing service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Proficient in producing highquality documentation reports and presentations ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Skilled at working within diverse crossfunctional teams including those that are geographically dispersed.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and communicate it effectively.
  • Active interest in staying updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends promoting continual learning and adaptation.

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where youll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $100800 to $183800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $120800 to $209000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and geography. In addition our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage pension and 401(k) plans and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our teamled and leaderenabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external client serving roles to work together in person 4060 of the time over the course of an engagement project or year.
