Job Summary
Through the AmeriCorps Texas grant program Texas Southmost College TSC will have AmeriCorps members who will 1 increase communication about and access to campus resources and support and 2 increase engagement in campus activities and with academic support services at TSC in Brownsville Texas. At the end of the first program year the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing TSC students who ewer served by the program falltospring persistence rate to 75 and falltofall persistence rate of 63.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Objective of the Assignment: Assist students with enrollment in workforce training programs (non ALL to help increase engagement in campus activities and with academic support services. Provide support for student persistence such as reaching out if absent etc. Contact WTCE students on their post TSC with career endeavors and connect students with the Career and Employment Services office for assistance with employment. Develop graduate and employer surveys and standard operating procedures for survey distribution collection and analysis. Plan and participate in outreach efforts for their division/department. E.g. Welcome Week campus events conferences webinars etc. Provide support for student persistence such as reaching out if absent etc. Measures of the Assignment: Number of students contacted and tracked by the AmeriCorps members and: . Persist to end of term or completion of program (shortterm outcome) Register for and attend following term: Winter/Spring from Fall or Summer/Fall from Spring (midterm outcome) Register for and attend the term starting one year from initial point of capture or complete their program (midterm outcome).
