Amazon is seeking a selfstarter and resultsoriented individual to join the AWS Energy team that sits within the AWS Infrastructure Services org in pioneering the future for data center utility power by developing and executing the strategy by which AWS delivers energy projects and partners with electric utilities and energy companies across the Southwest (PHX) region of the US. This individual will define the end to end including generation transmission distribution and backup power strategy for scaling and operating AWS diverse lowcost energy supply. In this role you will manage multiple largescale 100 MW) and technically complex power infrastructure projects across multiple geographies by facilitating close collaboration between both internal and external stakeholders. Within the overarching strategy this individual must be resilient in exploring and discovering new supply opportunities (that delivery both near term capacity with an accelerated path to netzero carbon supply) ultimately converting them into tactically sound and executable energy projects while working to reduce energy capital and operating expenses. Internally responsibilities outside of implementing the defined strategy include reporting status risks mitigations and successes to C level and VP level leadership as well as influencing multiple crossfunctional partner teams in the overall data center capacity delivery business process. Externally this role takes ownership of managing utility interactions coordinating efforts between real estate engineering and planning teams in site evaluation project engineering scheduling and budgeting including influencing and contracting with the utility EPC and/or Owners Engineer to meet AWS needs. The individual will work in an integrated team to implement a strategy that meets and exceeds AWS energy program requirements while delivering projects on time with tangible reliability and costsaving results.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong energy background and a proven track record of developing and delivering on innovative energy projects. Experience working with regulated electric utilities especially those in WECC region to develop contract and deliver medium and high voltage power infrastructure including related tariffs and supply agreements is a must. In this role you will negotiate and execute power supply contracts across AWS regions and create innovative supply structures that integrate our renewable energy portfolio and support the growth of clean energy via utility partnerships. The right candidate will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the business operations and technical challenges with the skillset to drive tactical of project schedules contracts initiatives and team goals. The candidate must have experience in reliably driving initiatives to completion in high speed constrained and ambiguous environments with practice in escalating and reporting to many organization leaders and teams across multiple levels. By establishing and growing business and technical relationships and managing the daytoday interactions with these partners you will be responsible for ensuring energy requirements needed to support AWSs global infrastructure expansion are met.

Key job responsibilities
Manage multiple Utilities EPC and Owners Engineers to deliver a portfolio of inflight medium voltage and high voltage power infrastructure projects.
Manage capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects.
Collaborate with the internal teams and regulated utilities on the implementation and management of energy and projects in a timely and accurate fashion.
Identify and develop innovative cost savings projects and initiatives related to energy infrastructure and supply. Responsible for completing due diligence on inmarket opportunities and developing those opportunities into cost savings for the business.
Work with utility regulators to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives.

Bachelors Degree required in Electrical Engineering with the focus on power and energy field
5 years of experience working in utility/energy industry in a project engineering project management construction management role
2 years of experience developing and delivering Medium Voltage and High Voltage electric infrastructure projects in a planning or project management role
1 years of experience analyzing energy projects and negotiating contracts with utilities and contractors
1 years of experience collaborating with external stakeholders to deliver projects ontime and onbudget

Financial/business/commercial experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project/program level education and certification
The ability to manage multiple simultaneous large utility scale projects requiring frequent communication organization time management and problemsolving skills
Experience planning engineering developing or constructing substations or other 34.5 kV or greater energy infrastructure
Strong Bias for Action with an ability to look around corners and effectively influence without authority.
Ability to Deliver Results in a constrained and ambiguous environment.
Experience managing large utilityscale projects work with various contractor/ subcontractor/ vendor/ thirdparty partners and personnel to deliver on schedule and on budget

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205500/year in our highest geographic market.
