Job Description
Willamette Family is looking for passionate people that have a passion for giving back.
Our Peer Support Specialists (PSS) are selfidentified people in recovery from a substance use disorder or mental health disorder or a family member of a former recipient of addiction treatment.
Under general supervision PSS will work directly with individuals in Willamette Family mens and womens residential programs by assisting in the promotion of abstinence selfsufficiency and selfdetermination. The PSS works in helping teach concepts of health promotion involving physical mental and social wellbeing and removing all other identified barriers to recovery.

Position: Fulltime 40/hrs./ week
Employment Type: Employee (W2 Hourly NonExempt
Compensation: $21.00/ Hour

Employment Requirements:
- This role requires Certified Peer Support Specialists to be available onsite; Must be located in Eugene OR area or be willing to commute.
- Criminal Background check conducted by the Department of Human Services Background Check Unit
- PreEmployment Drug Screening (Including THC)
- Effective 03/28/2025 Willamette Family has a required 12 month waiting period for Peers Support Specialists before former clients can apply for employment. This policy is in place to ensure professional boundaries and avoid potential conflicts of interest. Your response will not impact your eligibility beyond this requirement and all information will remain confidential.
Position Qualifications:
- Must be on the Oregon Health Authority Traditional Health Worker Registry or registered with MHACBO as CRM.
- A selfidentified individual formerly receiving addictions or mental health services and/or a selfidentified individual in recovery from an addiction
- Be acquainted with local community resources.
- Good verbal written and computer skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality in accordance with Willamette Family policy HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Oregon drivers license
- Ability to drive for Willamette Family per Willamette Family policy which includes none of the below infractions within the last 3 years: Operating a motor vehicle during a time of suspension or revocation; Operating a motor vehicle without a license; Driving under the influence of alcohol or ; Careless driving; More than two moving violations in the past three years; More than two accidents in the past three years; More than one accident in any one year; Speeding over 80 miles per hour or 21 miles per hour over the posted speed limit.
