POSITION SUMMARY: The Facilities Technician I is responsible for maintaining the daytoday operations of building systems equipment and vehicles. This entrylevel position focuses on routine maintenance tasks including performing minor repairs inspecting and troubleshooting HVAC systems plumbing electrical systems and general facility upkeep. This position is also responsible for basic repair and maintenance of facility vehicles and coordinating with outside vendors for specialized services when needed. In addition to maintenance duties the Facilities Technician I provides janitorial support as needed. Safety is a priority and the Facilities Technician I will ensure compliance with safety protocols and perform minor safety repairs and corrections. The role requires a basic understanding of facility operations and a commitment to delivering highquality service and support to all building occupants.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 1 year of facility and/or maintenance experience.
General knowledge of local state and federal safety regulations.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use mobile applications for jobrelated tasks such as communication and timekeeping.
Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Proactive thinking and problemsolving skills.
Ability to read and interpret safety regulations operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance ascend/descend stairs and
Basic proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand tools power tools testers and diagnostic equipment.
Pass agency paid criminal justice screening including fingerprints.
Pass agency paid TB (Tuberculosis) screening.
Pass agency paid health screening and/or drug testing (if required).
Valid California drivers license and proof of auto insurance coverage.
Pass agency paid MVR clearance with no more than 2 points if you are under the age of 25 our insurance company will not allow any points.
DUTIES:
Duties include but are not limited to the following core areas. Contribute to a team effort by performing other duties and completing special projects as assigned.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC systems plumbing electrical systems mechanical equipment painting and general facility upkeep.
Assist with janitorial needs as outlined by direct supervisor.
Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:
Conduct basic repair and maintenance of agency vehicles ensuring they are in good working order.
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure safety standards are followed.
Administrative:
Utilize the ticketing system to respond to maintenance and repair requests in a timely manner.
Submit purchase requisitions with supporting documentation for necessary parts equipment or services.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety protocols use tools and maintenance equipment safely.
Apply general knowledge of cleaning methods compounds and chemicals safely for various tasks.
Facilitate the safe collection storage and disposal of recyclables and hazardous waste to be in compliance with county and state requirements.
Participate in monthly safety meetings and adhere to all safety guidelines.
Vendor Coordination:
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized services as needed and maintain a professional working relationship.
